Aloha Golf Club »
Aloha golf course is one of the most prestigious and well-established golf clubs on the Costa del Sol. Located in Golf Valley in Marbella, Aloha has one of the most beautiful and well-kept golf courses in Spain. It hosted the PGA Tour 3 times in recent years and is one of the top courses in Spain.
Designed by the architect Javier Arana, it has a par 72 laid out in the traditional way with 4 par 5′s, 10 par 4′s and 4 par 3′s’ distributed evenly between the two nines. It has a total length of 6,293 meters, not a long course for modern PGA standards, but requires precision to the tee. The course undulates through trees and lakes with outstanding views of ‘La Concha’ mountain and the Mediterranean Sea.
The course designer, further enhanced the playing experience by planting a wide range of trees and shrubs that provide beautiful displays of colour throughout the year. The effect created by the designer is rather similar to a typical English parkland course, although most of its trees are more exotic in nature. It is laid out over a gently undulating terrain, with a few tight drives, and some blind shots to rather small greens. It also counts with a few water features and a good level of bunkering, providing a pleasant, yet challenging round of golf.
The front and back nine both start with a long par five followed by two testing par fours. The par four 7th is one of the most interesting and challenging holes in Aloha, as it requires a blind approach shot to the tiniest green of the course, which sits in a small hollow on the other side of the fairway. The only long par four on the course is the 18th, which provides a tough finish, given that water cuts into the left side of a narrow fairway, leading to an elevated, multi-tiered home green.
This is one of the best known golf courses on the Costa del Sol which has benefited from improvements over recent years.
In recent years, Aloha has undergone major improvements, Fairways have been replanted and the clubhouse and changing rooms refurbished.
The favourite meeting place for our members is the Clubhouse. It offers a large terrace overlooking the course, while its elegant and comfortable interior lounges create a warm and friendly ambiance. The adjacent building houses the caddy masters and the high quality and spacious dressing rooms (with sauna and relaxation room). The club´s restaurant is run by one of the most prestigious restauranteurs of Marbella, Restaurante Cipriano, from Puerto Banus. Great quality and excellent service are guaranteed.
Aloha is a private club, allowing a limited number of visitors during weekdays and weekends, so visitors must book in advance.
